So the solution to government concentrating power unfairly is… to give that same government even more power to pick winners and losers, with even less accountability?
That’s not fixing the problem. That’s doubling down on it.
The power concentration people are angry about didn’t happen under capitalism. It happened under a mixed economy where the state grants favors, barriers, subsidies, bailouts, protections, and regulations to politically connected firms. That’s how you get entrenched elites.
And the proposed “solution” is to expand the exact mechanism that created them.
If your house is flooding because someone left the faucet on, you don’t fix it by turning the faucet up.
It's not that socialism is next because capitalism failed, it's that capitalism isn't practiced because it's being corrupted and overwhelmed by socialism, and that's what's failing.
Socialism is next.
Get used to it.
