I find no joy in brutality, even that which comes to those who cause suffering. I have in me no old testament sense of vengeance, no bloodlust. I am not ashamed of my compassion or my humanity — the very same which Charlie Kirk mocked & derided days after my boyfriend's murder.
The friends of murdered Brooklyn activist Ryan Carson say that he would feel sorry for his killer, and would have blamed "lack of resources" for his own death.
"He would immediately see that this was a person ... who probably needs better mental health support, possibly housing, possibly drug support, drug treatment."
Imagine being so brainwashed that even after the murder of your friend, you feel obligated to express sympathy for the murderer.
