Silent Complicity
It started with hockey tickets.
But it was never about hockey.
It was about access - privilege, power - and a government that forgot who it serves.
Those offering invitations to games were also receiving contracts.
Sole-source deals. No competition. No oversight.
Then came the AHS Board’s dismissal - pushed through on false pretenses.
And when the alarm was raised, it wasn’t reform that followed - it was retaliation.
Then came the investigations Auditor General, RCMP and Justice Wyant.
His report confirmed what Albertans suspected all along -
political interference, conflicts of interest, and a system built to protect insiders, not taxpayers.
But instead of reflection, we’ve seen silence.
MLAs who once demanded evidence - and now have it - say nothing.
This is Silent Complicity -
a quiet surrender of conscience for convenience.
To my former colleagues:
You have the evidence.
It’s your move.
