homophobia isn't just slurs, hate crimes and undisguised revulsion. sometimes, it's a polite smile and an "oh, i'm sorry we can't serve you bc your existence goes against what god ordained (and you're going to hell). have a nice day!" and that /still/ counts. bigotry is bigotry

Thereโs a simpler way to say this: heterophobia doesnโt exist, for it to be oppression it needs to be systemic and heterophobia isnโt. In fact, heterophobia is nothing but some people jokingly saying corny things on the internet, which doesnโt make it real
i don't think people understand that heterophobia doesn't work in the same way that homophobia does.
there are countries where same sex marriage isn't even legal, places where being queer can literally get you imprisoned or killed. yet some of you are comparing this to straight people getting called a few mean names.
you don't have to come out to your parents as a straight person and fear the consequences if they don't accept you. you don't have to second guess holding your partner's hand in public and wonder if that'd be a safe idea.

the male characters suffer from it too bc people tend to make gross comments about them and justify it as "it's okay since they're men" all while the language used almost always loops back around to sexist remarks and borderline transmisogyny
i've often noticed that the only way people show appreciation for their fav is talk about their attraction towards them +/- praise for physical attributes, w/o any interest in discussing other character traits, and it gets to a point where it starts feeling like objectification
