The reason so many Big Ten schools want this is the reported up front payment $135 million to each school. It solves a lot of short-term issues for athletic departments. But it’s only a bandaid unless schools figure out how to operate within their means in this new world.

Further trying to privatize public university athletic departments that operate tax free on state/federally funded campuses/facilities into "for-profit business." Have to wonder when legislators step over "university administrators." Because this isn't "college" anything anymore.
