On 16 February in the UK, INDICATOR is thrilled to bring you a quartet of British classics – each of them available on Blu-ray for the first time ever anywhere in the world – including three productions from Albert R Broccoli and Irving Allen’s legendary Warwick Films.
First is THE MAN INSIDE, a pan-European crime caper starring Jack Palance (Torture Garden), Anita Ekberg (La dolce vita), Nigel Patrick (The Virgin Soldiers) and Anthony Newley (The Last Man to Hang) and directed by Hammer stalwart John Gilling (The Pirates of Blood River).
Next, Newley plays a singing sensation called up for national service in Gilling’s riotous military comedy IDLE ON PARADE (aka IDOL ON PARADE). The starry cast also includes William Bendix (The Web), Lionel Jeffries (The Shadow of the Cat), and Anne Aubrey (Jazz Boat).
Then, Newley is once again joined by Jeffries and Aubrey, as well as James Booth (Zulu) and David Lodge (The Ugly Duckling) for JAZZ BOAT, a rip-roaring musical crime comedy from Ken Hughes (The Long Haul), featuring the sounds of beloved big band Ted Heath and His Music.
Finally, in YOU MUST BE JOKING!, Michael Callan (Mysterious Island), Lionel Jeffries (The Scarlet Blade), and Denholm Elliott (The Missionary) are tasked with a scavenger hunt by Terry-Thomas (School for Scoundrels), with director Michael Winner (The System) wrangling an astonishing array of British screen talent.
Mastered from the finest available materials, each of these essential releases contains expertly encoded presentations, a range of new and archival extra features, English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing, and booklets with new essays, historical articles, contemporary reviews, and film credits.
