In 2024, an Israeli air strike killed seven aid workers who were part of a World Central Kitchen convoy. One of them was 33-year-old Jacob Flickinger, a Canadian Armed Forces veteran who was volunteering in Gaza. He was the father of an 18-month-old boy. No one was ever held accountable for these killings.
