In the lead up to Remembrance Day, I want people to remember two Canadian soldiers killed by Israel.
In 2006, the Israeli Air Force dropped a bomb on a United Nations post in Lebanon that killed several people, including Canadian Forces Major Paeta Hess-Von Krudener, who was stationed there as a UN peacekeeper.
In 2024, an Israeli air strike killed seven aid workers who were part of a World Central Kitchen convoy. One of them was 33-year-old Jacob Flickinger, a Canadian Armed Forces veteran who was volunteering in Gaza. He was the father of an 18-month-old boy.
No one was ever held accountable for these killings.
