Here’s the original clip of Ronald Reagan from April 25, 1987, where he delivered a complete and total rebuke against tariffs. Trump is calling Reagan’s words in this video “FAKE” and “fraudulent.” They’re 100% real. And the original clip is actually far worse for Trump, as much is left out of the ad. Watch this clip and read the full transcript: Throughout the world, there's a growing realization that the way to prosperity for all nations is rejecting protectionist legislation and promoting fair and free competition. Now, there are sound historical reasons for this. For those of us who lived through the Great Depression, the memory of the suffering it caused is deep and searing. And today, many economic analysts and historians argue that high tariff legislation passed back in that period, called the Smoot-Hawley tariff, greatly deepened the depression and prevented economic recovery. You see, at first when someone says, let's impose tariffs on foreign imports, it looks like they're doing the patriotic thing by protecting American products and jobs. And sometimes for a short while, it works, but only for a short time. What eventually occurs is, first, homegrown industries start relying on government protection in the form of high tariffs. They stop competing and stop making the innovative management and technological changes they need to succeed in world markets. And then, while all this is going on, something even worse occurs. High tariffs inevitably lead to retaliation by foreign countries and the triggering of fierce trade wars. The result is more and more tariffs, higher and higher trade barriers, and less and less competition. So soon, because of the prices made artificially high by tariffs that subsidize inefficiency and poor management, people stop buying. Then the worst happens. Markets shrink and collapse, businesses and industry shut down, and millions of people lose their jobs. The memory of all this occurring back in the 30s made me determined when I came to Washington to spare the American people the protectionist legislation that destroys prosperity. Now, it hasn't always been easy. There are those in the Congress, just as there were back in the 30s, who want to go for the quick political advantage, who risk America's prosperity for the sake of a short-term appeal to some special interest group, who forget that more than 5 million American jobs are directly tied to the foreign export business, and additional millions are tied to imports. Well, I've never forgotten those jobs. And on trade issues, by and large, we've done well.
If Joffrey Baratheon grew up to be an American president, this is pretty much what it would look like.

Yikes!
Mayor Mamdani would be a threat to America, because he wants to subordinate the United States to foreign courts. Here he says New York should uphold ICC warrants even though the US isn’t even a member of the court.

Dear @Xfinity: How about you just apply $2.52 to my balance forward like **every business ever has done since the first monthly bill in human history**? How about that?

So I saw "One Battle After Another" this weekend. It's great. Go see it. Paul Thomas Anderson doesn't really deal in plots. He deals in stories. And I think most directors could never pull off this feat. But he creates absolutely amazing, thoughtful, entertaining stories.

And the Democratic Party can help that process along by mercilessly Sister Souljah-ing them until they get the point that the Democratic Party is not going to enact Judith Butler's Gender Theories and they need to stop calling anyone who opposes them a transphobe.

I know what it's like to live in the South because I watched Smokey and the Bandit many times. I know what it's like to live on a huge, partially completed spaceship because I watched Star Wars.

I am conservative. I have always been a conservative Trump is not a conservative Kamala is not a conservative I voted for neither If Kamala was President and doing what Trump is doing conservatives would fight her. Everyone to the right would fight her. That is hard to say, and pathetic it has to be said. We would be better off as a country if Kamala had won… Trump is destroying our constitution and his populism will lead us down the road to a socialist state.

The suspension of @jimmykimmel and the promise to silence other Late Night hosts for criticizing the administration should disturb everyone on the Right, Left, and Center.  It’s wrong and anyone with a conscience knows it’s wrong.

I’m an independent, not a Democrat. Jimmy Kimmel’s sister also once told me to “fuck off and die” over a mistake that was a misunderstanding which I’d already felt awful about and apologized for. But this isn’t about politics or personal feelings; it’s about the FCC engaging in content moderation — and I’m still the same free speech absolutist as I’ve always been, for all the reasons I’ve spent my career espousing 😎
The head of the FCC said, on air, that Disney needed to "take action on Kimmel," and said, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way." And Chris Cuomo's response is that he doesn't see any "proof of government intervention." Just extraordinarily, willfully obtuse.

Thank you, @ChrisMurphyCT for standing up for our first amendment rights by introducing the No Political Enemies Act. As Murphy states, this is a decision moment for our country.
Today I introduced the No Political Enemies Act, with a powerhouse group of co-sponsors, to put in law protections for prosecution or harassment for political speech. Trump is shamelessly exploiting the death of Charlie Kirk to try to destroy his opposition. We cannot let him.

This is a 9-0 Supreme Court decision from just last year.
Ross is correct. We are now seeing the Woke Right in full bloom. The far left and the far right are exactly the same. They just want power to eliminate their disfavored out-groups. The out-groups are sometimes different, though it's always various bourgeoisie and Jewish people.
The woke were warned their tools could be turned against them but couldn't imagine history's arc bending rightward. (I struggled to imagine it myself.) Now populists facing the same warning keep implying no future censorious left could exceed what we've had already. (We'll see.)
