This is 16-17 years of planting mangroves along the coastal areas and river banks of Iloilo City.
These mangroves now serve as vital protection against floods, erosion, and pollution.
If you’ve been to Iloilo City, you’ve probably seen these lush mangroves along river esplanades, coastal areas, and Sunset Boulevard.
You'll also see crabs and fishes through the mangroves. And, mind you, malinis ang rivers namin.
As an Ilongga, I am proud of the initiatives of our LGU. It's not perfect, but certainly better than other "overhyped" cities na "the best in the country" daw.
May other cities and provinces in the Philippines replicate this initiative. 🌍
