We stand on the shoulders of giants
And so, it's only right to name the first phase of our Incentivized Testnet, Goldmiroff, in honor of the trio that ignited the zero-knowledge era: Shafi Goldwasser, Silvio Micali, and Charles Rackoff
They co-invented zero-knowledge proofs and first introduced them in their paper, “The Knowledge Complexity of Interactive Proof Systems"
And with this, they changed the course of technology forever
In this testnet, we will be stress-testing the Fermah Network under real-world conditions
This is a crucial step to deliver on our promise of making ZK proofs cheap, fast, and reliable
Phase 1 establishes and launches the foundational components of our testnet infrastructure
In this phase:
✅ Complete testnet onboarding documentation will be provided to permissioned Prover Nodes
✅ A Prover Node operated by Fermah will be deployed for rigorous initial testing and to pave a red carpet into Testnet for Prover Nodes
We're excited to continue working in collaboration with @eigenlayer to power the supply side
Throughout the different phases of Testnet, we'll be testing:
➡️ The Fermah Core matchmaking system
➡️ Payment distribution mechanisms
➡️ Peer-to-peer network functionality
➡️ Security protocols and parameters
➡️ Slashing mechanisms
We want you to be part of our journey, and so we'll be building each phase of our testnet in public!
Unlike synthetic proofs, we're generating proofs on actual data with partners like @zksync and @Scroll_ZKP to stress-test Fermah with real demand, real prover nodes, and real constraints
The testnet is structured as a permissioned environment to ensure optimal performance and testing conditions
Following the first three phases, we're planning something special that will expand participation beyond our initial infrastructure partners
Stay tuned for details on our fourth phase, in which we will bring Fermah to our broader community 🤫
