I kid, their purpose is to help start your saw cuts and to a lesser extent act as a chisel guide or platform; for when you need to saw or chisel at right angles to a prepared surface, minimizing the amount of follow-up work to get a finish ready surface (often right off the cut)
It’s a new kind of square! Raise your hand if you’ve ever heard of this thing before. Reviews say it’s almost too good. As-in, so good that you don’t want to love it because it means you’re skills may be less-than if you rely on it, but that you end up loving it anyways

This screwdriver, … just … THIS SCREWDRIVER! It’s like circular breathing in musics instrument playing — you know it’s possible, but really hard. Like how much engineering went into this thing? Was it AI? What magic allows this? It’s honestly very fun AND efficient!
Now the input distance is exactly double the output distance between the two ends. You ca scale up drawings, transfer measurements, chart a course on the high seas, replicate Mayan stelae from physical form to paper, and much more
