Our Cypherpunk Congress is the biggest communal event at
@EFDevcon (by Luma registrations).
But is it a coincidence? I don't think so.
It has been born from a strong emotion of justice. Desire to flip broken
@EthCC privacy, and turn it into smart, fast & more honest human-centric activity.
It required lots of creativity, trust by many wonderful people from
@kurtopsahl to
@naomibrockwell, & a warm support by thousands of people who witnessed the first edition.
Being human means liveliness, chaotic nature, playfulness and... extraordinary talent. From
@0x_m_f covering super coffee to
@iandreeacia covering rapid fire print, from unstoppable
@KeenOfCoin to
@jensei_ rushing Bangkok for a black cloth.
Being open means having
@RogerDingledine from
@torproject one day before the show. Hosting
@xychelsea - uniting whistleblower world with crypto. Amplifying Sapphirepunk anti tech-bros storytelling by
@wassimulacrum, or tuning in
@jayapapaya's Cypherpunk playlist.
Each time you need to prove that you matters.
So new people from those credible worlds of human rights, open-source, freedom tech will see that you are trustworthy, legit, not-corrupred. It's like a game. And stakes in privacy are quite high.
Being huge, big is a speculative narrative. I love small and cosy events. Not festivals. But freedom needs this impact, otherwise we doomed to exist within micro aka nishified communities. "Festival" here stands for celebration. Because it's a zero-bullshit zone of people who believe in something decent.
Having a war, fashist leadership, pro-genoside governments, widespread corruption, populism, lack of freedom in countries of our team. Because this change do matters. Now. Not even tomorrow.
