Family means everything to Darlington Nagbe. ♥️
He retired from the USMNT back in 2018 because he wanted to spend more time with his family.
Last night, when his pro career came to an end, one of the first things he did was go and find his family in the stands.
“They’re everything. They push me every single day to be a better player and a better person,” Nagbe said via the post-game interview.
“My wife has been with me before all this started. So for her, she’s definitely feeling all the emotions.”
“My kids, they don’t know me as anything else, just dad and this [being a soccer player]. So for them, it’s definitely a sad moment.”
“But I’m definitely looking forward to spending time with them and being home more.”
Nagbe has retired as four-time MLS Cup winner. He also won two Campeones Cups, one Leagues Cup, one U.S. Open Cup, and with the USMNT, he won the Gold Cup.
