A founder of @FedSoc kicked off this year's Scalia Memorial Dinner by saying he has spoken to Trump today and Trump asked us to keep sending him judges to defend his administration.
This is not the job of judges or conservatives and dishonors Scalia's legacy.

I don't expect all my fellow members if @FedSoc to agree with me on anything. I appreciate the organization doesn't take positions. But when leaders say this kind of stuff from the stage at the signature annual event, it damages the organization and what it purports to be.
At a minimum, the Trump administration raises challenging questions of law that reasonable conservatives and libertarians might debate. @FedSoc should be a home for those debates, not a rooting section for those in power.
If a Constitutionalist movement like @FedSoc cannot find its voice to defend the Constitution, or raise questions about assaults upon it, when its political allies are in power, one must ask what its project really is
