Bodge Charger 2 just had a very successful testing w/e at Footfest 😍. After calibrating the sensors and swapping out the inferior Li-Ion battery for LiPo packs BC2 was flying! Electronic Diff and Boost mode made a big difference 😎. Looking forward to more at Scrumpy Cup next 👍

The main target of today’s expedition was this, however - an excavated Roman bathhouse in a corrugated iron bunker under the A1(M) near Welwyn. And this is a place with which I have a special connection… (thread)
There were some rough calculations for the size of the screen. In order for people to be able to play the GameBoy Monumental there would need to be a controller. One was designed by slicing the top off a cad model and then installing buttons / controls and a control wire.
The unit was modelled in CAD and a frame was built out of some Bosch Strut we were donated. The outer casing parts were broken down in to segments that could be machined out of foam on our CNC router

The individual LED modules were built in to 6 off 1m by 0.5m sub panels ( 2 x 500mm squares) with each sub panel driven by a #RaspberryPico I don't have all the details yet but will provide more soon. We have some development and build photos which I will post shortly.
We present to you for your delictation and entertainment the GameBoy Monumental. The screen is made up of 48 500mm x 125mm/64 x 8 pixel RGB LED display panels arranged in a 1.5m tall 2m wide display.
