Here’s the second release in my “Archiven” series, this time featuring Yanky Steinmetz.
This little teniyah came together one night in Meron, while I was visiting there two years ago. There’s a well-known saying from the tzadikim: In the me’arah, it feels like Yom Kippur with tears, tefillos, people begging for yeshuos. But outside? It’s Simchas Torah with dancing and pure joy.
That contrast inspired me to write this chorus: “Inside is Yom Kippur, outside is Simchas Torah. Yidden dancing, Yidden crying by Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.”
May the fire we feel burning in our neshamos tonight, through the feelings of Yom Kippur and Simchas Torah, fuel us all year long. ❤️🔥
