That's correct. Publishers removed '1984' from our library. 🕳️

Orwell warned us about it, but you can't read him now.

Maybe they just moved it from fiction to the historical section.

.@ALALibrary, the defender of ALL books including porn books in schools. Are you going to say something about this?
Replying to @internetarchive
But Orwell won't write any more novels if we give 1984 away for free!

Is there a place to access all of these books before they’re gone?

Why do they want to censor your huge library of free books? What is the primary motivation? Is it just censorship? Or is there more to it?

Already got my own copies of both, so their censorship of them can blow me. Just means I better get Brave New World among others then, and soon.

One of the books used by the publishers in the lawsuit is ”Let’s Talk About Me: How to Recognize and Manage the Narcissists in Your Life” // they clearly did not read it themselves!

Orwell never wanted anyone to steal his work. You should be ashamed of yourselves, making it appear that not stealing is totalitarian censorship

As much as I appreciate our current digital and accessible information, there is something to be said for the written word - even stone carvings are more tangible. It's kinda scary how facts can just poof - gone! No evidence. No research. @elonmusk we need a safe library!

Is this 2024 or 1984. 1984 was supposed to be a warning, not a manual. @ballbr

I wish you were joking, but sadly, I fully expect you are being 100% factual, and that’s some dark irony if I’ve ever seen any.
