Maaseudun Tulevaisuus kirjoittaa Tanskassa esiin tulleista Bovaerin aiheuttamista ongelmista lehmille 6.11.2025 julkaisemassaan artikkelissa: "Lehti: Tanskan elintarvikevirasto selvittää mahdollisia Bovaer-ongelmia". On mainiota, että suomalaisetkin lehdet alkavat vihdoin kirjoittamaan asiasta. Näin tieto leviää entistä laajemmalle yleisölle. Artikkelissa kerrotaan mm. aineen lehmille aiheuttamista ongelmista: "Monet tanskalaiset maidontuottajat ovat lokakuun alusta lähtien kertoneet lehmiensä huonovointisuudesta ja alentuneista tuotoksista karjoissa, joissa naudoille on alettu syöttää metaanipäästöjä vähentävää Bovaer-rehulisäainetta." Ilmaisu on kuitenkin aika maltillinen. Pelkästään yhdellä maitotilallisella oli kertomansa mukaan 90 sairastunutta lehmää ja useita, jotka olivat lyyhistyneet maahan. Maidontuotanto oli vähentynyt 3000 litraa vuorokaudessa. Kaikki sen jälkeen kun hän oli aloittanut Bovaerin syöttämisen lehmilleen. Esiin tulleet maitotilalliset ovat kertoneet myös useamman lehmän kuolleen aineen käytön seurauksena. Se mikä artikkelissa on erikoista, on se kuinka suuri osa jutusta on omistettu Bovaerin ylistykseen. Juttuun on sisällytetty Ruokaviraston ja Luken "faktaosio" Bovaerista, jonka faktat eivät kuitenkaan pidä paikkaansa. Osiossa väitetään esimerkiksi näin: "Ei vaikuta maidon tai lihan laatuun tai koostumukseen eikä siitä tule jäämiä maitoon, lihaan tai lantaan. Ei siirry lehmästä maitoon tai maitotuotteita käyttävään ihmiseen". Kuitenkin Euroopan ruokaturvallisuusviranomaisen EFSA:nkin tutkimusarvioissa todetaan, että Bovaerin vaikuttavan aineen 3-NOP:in aineenvaihduntatuotetta nitroksipropionihappoa (NOPA), on havaittu tutkimuksissa siirtyneen maitoon, joskin vähäisissä määrin. Kuluttajilla ja maitotillalisilla olisi oikeus tietää tämäkin tosiasia. Eräs tanskalainen maitotilallinen kertoo avoimesti paljastusvideollaan, että Bovaer on vaikuttanut maidon laatuun ja hän totesikin, että "maidossa on jotain, mikä ei ole kunnossa." Hän mainitsee osoitukseksi tästä hälyyttävästi raja-arvot ylittäneen bakteeripitoisuuden. Hyvä sentään, että Suomessakin lehdistö on viimein innostunut kirjoittelemaan Bovaerista, mutta lisää tarkkuutta uutisointiin kaivataan.
