When you’re doing PhD research, the challenges you encounter are often complex, ambiguous, and can feel unwieldy. That is part of the learning. A PhD is in part a degree in managing complexity and ambiguity. Your PhD experience should be equipping you to wield the unwieldy.

Perfect…as my mentor (Ph.D. In physics) said to me early on: ‘science& its investigation cannot be bought in a store, not even at ‘Fisher Scientific.’ And his exhortations ring loud & clear - as you say - scientific investigation is an endeavor in ingenuity to answer a question

Exactly this 👍. A great deal of the PhD experience is not only anticipating the challenges but also preparing how to act on those challenges. Communication and networking are vital tools to aid in this aspect. Articulation and suitable dissemination also aid in overcoming issues
