Forgive the long post. I believe you'll find it worthwhile.
Several years ago, my friend's wife worked in the temple office Friday mornings. This was during the era of the phone as the predominant method of adding someone to the prayer role.
Most of the calls she'd answer were simple one-off requests by concerned families and ministers.
But she came to recognize one voice each week who would call in. This was a man who would present 5 different names each Friday morning. Week after week, for years.
Finally, my friend's wife felt enough of a connection to this repeat caller, that she asked why he called so regularly.
He said he was a surgeon and the 5 names were his Friday patients. She was touched by his faith and compassion.
"That's so inspiring. What ward are you in?"
His answer: "Oh, I'm not a member of your church, but I want to do everything I can for patients to heal quicker."
The power of the temple is real.
My wife started working again, really part-time, in woman’s services at a hospital.
I don’t know any specifics but a reallyyyyyy sick baby isn’t expected to make it through the night… 😭
Idk why but I felt strongly like requesting prayers on this unknown family’s behalf was a good idea. Either for the baby to have a miracle or the parents to feel comforted. Maybe both? Idk. Just felt like it would be good to request it.
Prayer and share 🙏🏾🖤
