what's the file size compared to the same frame as vdb?

In this particular example, the file size turns out to be comparable to standard OpenVDB. Of course it depends on how many data channels you store. In this case, storing just density and temperature the VDB is around ~100MB, approximately the same as the gaussian. But you could also use a turntable render of a much more massive sim, in which case I'm sure the gaussian splat would be much smaller.
