a delirious yakuza fever dream. ninety minutes of steam, sex, and guns, bursting out of the frame with exaggerated enthusiasm. corpses fall from every which way, fires ignite at random, and characters lust for death. unhinged, absurd filmmaking that solely wants to entertain.
Branded to Kill (1967) - Seijun Suzuki
doing a B&N pitstop in a bit and then sitting down in the afternoon with this. the title is cool as hell and i've read nothing but praise for suzuki's style. all movies would be more eye-catching with assassins in suits and sunglasses.
