Simple, field-configurable, and readily-repairable tractors based on the classic Allis-Chalmers Model G design – from vendors such as @OggunTractor, Tuff-bilt, and Tilmor – are a potential fit for many small farming applications! HT @UKSmallholdings @shashinetwork @TimMarks416
So old school, so useful - loving this retro designed #Tilmor tractor which we think is a great choice for smaller scale #organic producers looking to give their lumbosacral some TLC: piped.video/f_lgOUTg5N4 @OrgResCent @ofgorganic @World_Ploughing @OGAgrowers @LandBase_UK
Thread on buying sturdy, used equipment. (And where it's a trailer, pairing it with old school haulers.) Practical and cheap, but repairable > funky-looking.
Won an auction on a hay trailer to haul off our steep switchbacks. On load out day, I told the auctioneer that the cattle prices were up so we were upgrading equipment. He looked at the trailer and looked at me a laughed. He was still laughing as I pulled away.

New research sheds light on the incredible, invisible mycelial networks beneath our feet—where plants and fungi engage in a complex trade of carbon and nutrients. Using cutting-edge robotic imaging, scientists have uncovered how mycorrhizal fungi form efficient, dynamic underground supply chains. This groundbreaking study reveals the fascinating behaviors of these networks and their crucial role in carbon sequestration. Evening light. Desert flight. Taken yesterday at BdA. After finally getting my hard drive and catalog sorted its back to working on crane photos. Good fortune and timing allowed me to catch this trio of cranes flying over a tree in the bosque that I plan to have a long photographic relationship with.

Solar photovoltaic projects can also support crops, livestock grazing, and/or biodiversity habitat! A new report from the Wild Energy Center at @UCDavis helps developers and policymakers learn about best practices for such multi-use energy facilities.
