If cutting USAID really killed 150,000 kids with pneumonia, it’s not just a shame on Trump. It is a shame on every other nation in the world, including the ones where they died.

This is mass murder on a scale we haven't seen in generations. Trump did this. Musk did this. The SCOTUS that allowed these cuts to congressionally mandated programs and an acquiescent @GOP did this. It's sickening. newyorker.com/culture/the-ne…

Yes, but until the age of Trump, the US branded itself as the unofficial leader of the world. And we genuinely worked hard to earn that reputation! Trump has killed that out of pure spite. I do think that’s the main story here.

I cannot tell you how skeptical I am of the pneumonia claim. Small parts of USAID went to international health, but most of the money was wasted. I’ve met numerous people who have worked at or with it who were astonished at the foolishness of it all.
