A man plays Russian roulette with a six-chamber revolver; one bullet, five empty chambers. He pulls the trigger once, survives, and wins $10 million. He walks away a “genius”, praised for his intellect and “rationale”.
As we have gotten some inquiries, I can confirm that we have unwound our $MSTR/Bitcoin hedged trade as of yesterday’s open.

Holy cow man. This was an obvious trade. The percentage winning was a lot higher than 1 in 6. You have a company run by a con man trading at a massive premium to NAV while racking up debt it can't possibly repay without dilution, debt or dumping assets.

If btc had spiked to $150k or $200k this year, would’ve been a bad trade. Year long chopsolidation is what saved him.

It was obvious to just about everyone outside the $BTC treasury cult that $MSTR was incredibly overvalued. The only hard part was timing the trade.

I used to believe that. The proof is in the pudding, though in hindsight, Chanos literally told us what he was doing. It made complete logical sense. All Chanos had to do was listen to Saylor and copy trade him. Wouldn't Saylor even be required to notify people as soon as he decided to sell btc and buy mstr? This is the only thing I haven't looked at yet. It feels as though Saylor would have an obligation to notify everyone (including Chanos et al) that the carry trade was about to go against them.

Now play RR with bulletproof headgear. You'll get a headache, but will get to play again. That is closer to shorting.

LMFAO. Have the balls to admit he was right about Saylor and MSTR over the last year. Your analogy is laughable.

Jim chanos has been making money as a short seller since the 1980s. He doesn’t play Russian roulette. But why would you know that.

Man, THANK YOU. I've been laughing all day at the outcome bias on this topic. He only won because bitcoin has been consolidating for 7 months. Leading to MSTR inevitably leaking the premium they gained prior. BTC consolidation is a factor he didn’t even consider in his thesis.

Oh, I don't know about that. It's maybe the bulls whom you should be talking about. It's not like bitcoin is the safe bet. TBD.

Totally dude. Told the whole world he was playing it. Why he was guaranteed to win. Played it for almost a year. And won. Yes that is Russian roulette. You guys are getting cope-ier by the day

nope, his approuch countering exaggerated premium from above 2 to now 1.19 was anything but russian roulette. And honestly closing this trade short above 1 made sense as well.

It was an excellent trade!! You had the upper hand of $BTC always! Even better would have been 1. Short $MSTR 2. Long $BTC 3. Buy proceeds $STRC
