Coming soon: The "You Can Recall NDP But Not Us Act."
Alberta’s premier just said, even more clearly than yesterday, that her gov’t is watching recalls “very closely” to see if they want to make “any adjustments” to the rules. #ableg #cdnpoli
The UCP has failed to take action and deliver on the real issues that Albertans are facing each and everyday. Albertans deserve a government that lowers costs, creates good jobs, and makes life more affordable for everyone.

While the Premier and her Government are musing about what speed you should be able to drive on the QE2, Albertans are facing record costs. Families are cutting back on groceries, skipping meals, or filling up just a quarter tank of gas in order to keep the lights on.

Danielle Smith is surprised that Albertans are using recall legislation for its intended purpose. That's how the law works, Premier. And no cabinet minister should implement laws while believing they are above them. piped.video/shorts/YEQGF7y0n…
Alberta’s New Democrats are focused on our affordability agenda to address rising costs, protect your paycheques and boost wages. Better is possible.

Every day, I hear stories about how life is getting more and more unaffordable under this UCP government.  Everything from utilities to groceries to rent has gone up, and wages haven’t kept up.

My, my… If it isn’t the consequences of your own actions, Premier.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she's concerned such petition drives aren't using the recall legislation in good faith but instead, are trying to overthrow her government. globalnews.ca/news/11513339/…

Prostate cancer surgery wait times have almost doubled under the UCP, now 30% worse than the national average. How much longer will Albertans have to wait before this government acts and properly funds healthcare?

🚨 Alberta’s healthcare is on the brink. The UCP calls it ‘re-focusing.’ We call it chaos. Respect workers. Listen to patients. Protect public healthcare. Before it’s too late. #ABLeg #ABPoli #ABHealth #ABLabour
Last night, the UCP cowardly avoided debate on a motion to denounce Alberta separatism and support national unity in the legislature. I’ve had enough of this cowardly behaviour. Now is the time for ethical, competent government. It’s time for Alberta’s New Democrats.

Alberta's Auditor General is racing to finish his investigation into healthcare procurement after the UCP govt rejected his proposed contract extension. He's done in April, 2026, and wants his probe wrapped then, too. theglobeandmail.com/canada/a…

Notice how many UCP defenders conflate permissibility with necessity and merit? "Just because something is possible doesn’t mean we have to do it, and just because we do it doesn’t make it a good idea." 🔗jaredwesley.ca/newsletter
Pre-emptive use is plainly permitted by the text of s33. Which was carefully drafted.

It’s been a powerful first week back in the Legislature: I’ve heard from teachers, parents, students, and so many Albertans who stand with us as we fight for the future of our province. The work continues on, and we’re just getting started.

UCP Minister of Children and Family Services @SearleTurton publicly disagrees with his govt's policy on COVID-19 vaccines. All MLAs should be advocating for universal no-charge COVID vaccines. Will any other UCP Minister have the courage to stand up with him? #abhealth #ableg

Danielle Smith is using the notwithstanding clause to protect herself while crushing individuals' rights and freedoms. That’s not freedom, that’s cowardice. And Albertans won’t stand for it.

Alberta NDP leader Naheed Nenshi just called the premier a “coward” for “trampling workers rights” while catching a flight overseas. Nenshi says “last night was the beginning of the end” for the UCP gov’t. Says there were better ways to get kids back in schools. #ableg

It will be interesting to see how overriding charter rights, forcing a rejected labour deal on workers, and threatening substantial fines will impact Alberta's plan to add and recruit 3,000 new teachers over the next 3 years.
