A power company started a fire that killed 85 people and wiped an entire town called Paradise off the map.
They were found guilty of 85 counts of manslaughter... then gave Gavin Newsom $208,000.
He bailed them out like it was nothing. The victims? Still waiting. Paradise? Still rubble.
The fire happened 7 years ago. 3/4 of the town is still just burned dirt and broken dreams.
The guy who hosted Newsom’s fancy lockdown dinner? A PG&E lobbyist. Because of course.
Since then? California’s still on fire, the forests are still full of dead brush, and the governor’s still MIA... unless there’s money or wine involved.

In a classic case of misplaced priorities, LA officials chose endangered plants over fire prevention, leading to this week's devastating blazes.
The LADWP tried upgrading fire-resistant power lines in 2019.
Their crime? Disturbing 182 milkvetch plants during construction.
California's response?
A $2M fine and mandatory "plant diversity" programs.
Because apparently, non-native plants are more threatening than actual fires.

Meanwhile, homeless encampments average 24 fires per day.
But when Good Samaritans caught a man with a flamethrower this week?
Police cited "lack of probable cause" for arson charges.
The kicker? Insurance Commissioner Lara just banned insurers from dropping homeowners in fire zones.
Because apparently, you can regulate away reality in California.

NEW: BBC to apologize for deceptively editing President Trump’s January 6 speech in an effort to make it look like he encouraged violence at the Capitol.
The apology letter is reportedly expected to come early next week.
“Samir Shah, the BBC’s chairman, will write to the culture, media and sport committee on Monday to express regret for the way the speech, made on the day of the Jan 6 2021 Capitol riot, was spliced together,” the Telegraph reported.
BBC’s director general Tim Davie and Shah were both allegedly warned about the doctored footage in May but decided to keep quiet, according to the outlet.
