We give consumers no indication what actual costs are. Then subsidize whatever purchasing decisions are made. Result: we spend more than anyone in the world on health care & get worse results. Shielding consumers from cost = broken system. This has been my TED talk.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but when you subsidize something shitty, you just make it shittier. This is how all health care bills have worked for my entire life. Until people know what things cost and can make rational choices based on cost, nothing works.

Earlier this year, the Atlanta Braves proudly hosted the 4th annual Native American All-Star Baseball Showcase at @TruistPark. The showcase, co-produced with the Native American Athletic Foundation (NAAF), featured high school athletes from Native American descent from 22 states and Canada. It included a pro-style workout, a home run derby, and an exhibition game to provide exposure to college and professional scouts. Beyond the on-field activities, the event also focused on personal development through sessions on leadership, scholarship searches, and positive coping skills.

It doesn’t really matter who the Braves have at manager next year if they don’t improve the roster this winter. They have a really solid core. They need to add complimentary pieces. That’s far more important.
