Dems in red states fight all damn day while safe dem senators don’t do shit for anyone.
If Ossoff, Warnock, Kelly, Gallego and Slotkin can vote NO there’s not excuse for King, Shaheen and Hassan to votes YES

We needed an FDR or a Churchill. Instead we got this profound loser.
Replying to @nypost
This can be confirmed by a video of Chuck Schumer screaming “WE WILL WIN” in February. Four months after losing the White House, The Senate and House of Representatives.

Dem base that gave them a blue tsunami: DON'T CAVE Majority of Dem elected officials: DON'T CAVE The majority of Americans blame the GOP for the shutdown and higher costs... 8 Dem Centrists (and you better believe Schumer knows what's up): Nah, We'll cave. I guarantee you calls came from donors, especially the airline industry.

Either Schumer has no control over his own caucus and is thus an ineffective leader (unlikely), or he knew what was going on all along — or even was a part of the deal talks — and used the other Dem yes votes as a shield for himself (much mire likely). Either way, not great!
Schumer voted no. How about some tweets on the yes votes.

you know this is a terrible deal because even the usual dem party flacks are tearing into it. schumer is the worst possible senate leader for this moment in history, actually an historic level of pathetic weakness
An end to the shutdown is in sight. A senior Dem Senator tells me there will be more than enough Democrats to vote in favor of re-opening the government tonight. They’ll get a promise of a vote on health care — but nothing more. Most of the Democratic leadership will likely vote against it.

I stand with @BernieSanders. This is not about politics, but about real people. It's not about securing a vote for show, but preventing premium hikes for Americans who are scared of what that will mean for them.

Let's see something: if you believe Senator Schumer should resign, then like this tweet. Let's send him a message.

“Yes” already has what it needs to break cloture. Here are the 8 Democratic /Independent yes votes at this moment: Dick Durbin (IL) Angus King (ME) Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) Jacky Rosen (NV) Maggie Hassan (NH) Jeanne Shaheen (NH) John Fetterman (PA) Tim Kaine (VA)

Schumer voting "no" for a shutdown deal he facilitated every step of the way. Just trying to keep his hands clean. Don't fall for it
Schumer: "I'm voting No."

those eight democrats successfully making this whole thing look like it's the dems fault. fucking stupid stupid STUPID.
Anyone who believes he didn’t orchestrate the whole thing which allows him to vote “No” for optics needs their head examined

If Dems cave, you’ll see a wave of Dem influencers and commentators trashing the party for giving in and getting nothing back. And then some people will ask, “Why do Democrats keep criticizing Democrats?” It’s because the party keeps doing nothing. Why support mediocrity?
New - In major breakthrough, key Senate Ds signaling a willingness to vote to reopen government, per sources. Assuming they get provisions to reinstate fired federal workers. Emerging deal would not include extension of ACA subsidies but would guarantee a vote in Senate on issue

Honestly, primarying Schumer and applying EXTREME pressure for him to resign immediately is a bare necessity, whether he kills us with this vote or not. Even floating the idea reflects a total inability and unwillingness to lead. Regardless of the outcome, he is a traitor.

Schumer got flayed for not shutting the government down last time (and had his book tour ruined) and is now getting flayed for not keeping his caucus together long enough. Guy can't win. He's frankly just past his prime, doesn't really get this moment. Schumer was an absolute wunderkind in his understanding of the traditional media, and how Democrats could operate within it. He could tell you what was going to be on the front page of every major paper the day before, hell, sometimes several days before. Nobody gaf what's on the front page of the paper anymore and Schumer is just lost at sea.
MSNBC panel tears into Chuck Schumer: One guest flat-out declared, “This is the end of Chuck Schumer as we go forward.” They slammed him for losing the ACA fight that 80% of Americans agree on. “How do you lose that negotiation after you just won an election.”

Just so you know, Senate Democrats can replace Schumer and choose new leadership at any time.
Chuck Schumer told retiring democrats and those not up until ‘28/‘30 to vote yes. He and other dems wanted to cave but didn’t want to be vulnerable to a primary. Schumer is still the leader of senate dems. If he can’t control his caucus then he shouldn’t be in the senate and he certainly shouldn’t be the dems senate leader.

Sir a second congressman has called on Schumer to step down
Tonight is another example of why we need new leadership. If @ChuckSchumer were an effective leader, he would have united his caucus to vote ‘No’ tonight and hold the line on healthcare. Maybe now @EdMarkey will finally join me in pledging not to vote for Schumer?

I think we've got a new leader to get behind.
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

Maybe it's time for those in the back to make it to the front and for the old guard to make way?
A back bench House member calling for the ouster of the Senate floor leader feels very early mid 2010s GOP.
