I don’t usually give a lot of advice about bug bounty. But I thought why not. My advice is to be absolutely ruthless. There will be headache and projects rejecting valid bugs there’s no denying it, doesn’t matter how great a platform is, you will always face resistance at some point, you need to always stand for yourself, if you have a valid report and it gets closed you argue back, if they’re trying to pay too low, you argue back you provide solid evidence that’s undeniable and give no free room for the project to come up with new excuses. I have argued a ton, paragraphs, fact checking every statement each project makes and explain one by one how and why they’re wrong. Going through all their commits to see they fixed an issue of my reports after rejecting it, I’ve had reports from months ago reopened. I go through all my closed reports every 5 months to see if I can reopen any of them and if the project maybe fixed it in the codebase secretly. Yes, you should be good at auditing, but more importantly you need to be good at negotiating using the platform’s rules to your own advantage.
