Our neighborhood is becoming a little bit friendlier thanks to the work of these nice people. Out of luck I am in this photo even though I haven't done much to deserve it 🙈

Did you know that crucial parts of the internet are maintained by 1 or 2 volunteers each? The global timezone database, OpenSSL, cURL, and several more cornerstones of the internet depend on 1 or 2 people who are not payed to do this. Let that sink in for a moment.

Hi. I know you’re excited about copilot. GitHub scraped your code. And they plan to charge you for copilot after you help train it further. It’s truly disappointing to watch people cheer at having their work and time exploited by a company worth billions.

github copilot has, by their own admission, been trained on mountains of gpl code, so i'm unclear on how it's not a form of laundering open source code into commercial works. the handwave of "it usually doesn't reproduce exact chunks" is not very satisfying
I find really interesting how Rust always makes me question the assumptions built after years of designing code in C++, Java or Python.

Seeing Elon Musk basically rediscover underground public transportation is quite funny.
Looking forward to the glorious future where we have hundreds of Boring Company tunnels and our cities are entirely made up of entrances and exits to Broing Company tunnels
