Trying to purchase @Delta in-flight wifi with @stripe link but need SMS/email 2-step verification to sign in is ridiculous. Did they never test this in a real flight?
Our AI ecosystem assumes *static* models. When models start *continually* updating, much of AI evaluation and alignment goes out the window.

NeurIPS 2025 is excited to announce this year’s Affinity Events — workshops and socials that connect communities, spark discussion, and highlight new ideas across AI and ML. Events will take place throughout the week in San Diego, with a joint gathering in Mexico City. For more details check out our latest blog post! 👉 blog.neurips.cc/2025/10/08/a…
If I have a brilliant research idea, I should
a) Try it out with the help of AI in a few days OR
b) Spend a month to write a grant, possibly get rejected in 6 months or get to be the luckiest top 10% to get funded in a year just to recruit one student to start from ground zero.
In 1850, California began taxing foreign miners $20/month (~$500 today)—while exempting "free white" foreign miners. As a result, many Mexican and Chinese miners left. Repealed in 1851, politicians reimposed it in 1852 at $3/month.

Excited to present my work at CoLLAs 2025 @CoLLAs_Conf! In our paper arxiv.org/abs/2501.12254, we tackle the challenge of self-supervised learning from scratch with continuous, unlabeled egocentric video streams, where we propose to use temporal segmentation and a two-tier memory.
While cleaning out my office this morning, I found my first complete drawing of Bayesian Program Learning for Omniglot. The one piece of paper I'll keep! (1/2)

We're excited to announce a second physical location for NeurIPS 2025, in Mexico City. By expanding our physical locations, we hope to address concerns around skyrocketing attendance and difficulties in obtaining travel visas that some attendees have experienced in the past few years when only one location was available.

Is it me or the commercial image generators (e.g. DALLE, Gemini) are less creative now compared to 6 months ago? They are more afraid to use creative shapes and details. Seems like they have been overtrained on a logo/simple shape dataset.
