Famine is now a grim reality for children in Gaza Governorate, and a looming threat in Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis. There is no time to lose. Without an immediate ceasefire and full humanitarian access, famine will spread, and more children will die. unicef.link/3JKqkO4

Famine has been confirmed for the first time in Gaza. @FAO, UNICEF, @WFP and @WHO reiterate the call for an immediate ceasefire and unhindered humanitarian access to curb deaths from hunger and malnutrition. unicef.org/press-releases/fa…

Recent violence in As-Sweida, Syria, forced over 190,000 people - mainly women and children - to flee their homes. Amid continued insecurity and access constraints, food, medicine and other essentials continue to be scarce. UNICEF and partners are providing health and nutrition supplies and services, safe drinking water and mental health support. Children in Syria need lasting stability and peace for their futures.
In the #Gaza Strip, aid workers like Sospeter go to extraordinary lengths to save lives. A single trip to the border crossing to collect vital assistance can take up to 20 hours. Still, @UNICEF teams have stayed & delivered - 1 million children depend on it. #ForEveryChild

We met some girls in Madagascar who shared what they hope to achieve. Thanks to UNICEF-supported education programmes, they’re dreaming of a future grounded on strength, aspiration and the right to choose their own path. #GirlGoals

In crises, girls are among the hardest hit. But around the world, they're leading change and building a better future. That's why this year’s theme for #DayofTheGirl is “The girl I am, the change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis.” #GirlGoals unicef.link/3JhXmoO

Amid soaring temperatures, many families in western Gaza City are getting displacement orders again. Ten-year-old Abdel Karim’s mother, Kamela, says, “This is the 15th time I was displaced until I arrived here, and I am diabetic. Life in the tent is very hard, it protects neither from the summer heat nor from the winter cold.” Children need stability and access to aid at scale. Most importantly and urgently, they need a ceasefire.

On #WorldHumanitarianDay, we honor frontline workers, community volunteers and local responders saving lives across Eastern and Southern Africa. From cyclones to disease outbreaks to conflict, they bring hope and care to children in crisis—every single day.
In Haiti, 680,000 children have been displaced by the crisis. They are deprived of education, health care, and protection. This must never become the norm. Let’s #ProtectChildrenInConflict #ActForHumanity #WorldHumanitarianDay2025

Children’s lives in Ukraine continue to be devastated because of the war. UNICEF remains on the ground to provide urgent humanitarian assistance. With our partners, we stay and deliver. Children and humanitarians must always be protected. #WorldHumanitarianDay #ActForHumanity
📦 Supplies aren’t just boxes. They’re lifelines—food, water, medicine. When @UNICEF's Khartoum warehouse was destroyed, every lost supply put a child’s life at risk. This #WorldHumanitarianDay, we honor those who keep hope alive #ForEveryChild in Sudan.

As Sudan faces the world’s largest child displacement crisis, humanitarian workers are at the heart of UNICEF’s response on the ground. Delivering life-saving health, nutrition and education supplies to children and families affected by the ongoing conflict, humanitarian staff and partners are supporting children in critical ways. But in places like Sudan and around the world, there is a widespread failure to protect humanitarian workers providing aid and protection to children in war. This #WorldHumanitarianDay, join UNICEF in demanding world leaders protect humanitarian workers from attack and hold perpetrators to account.
In conflict-affected Mali, Hama, 23, is bringing hope with innovation: his solar-powered water pump now serves his school, health center and community. Young changemakers are driving real solutions! #WorldHumanitarianDay #Youth @unicef @unicefmali

Humanitarian workers and assets must always be protected. Everywhere. They are #NotATarget. Warring sides must allow and facilitate the safe, rapid and unimpeded delivery of aid to people in need. #WorldHumanitarianDay worldhumanitarianday.org — via @UNOCHA
Hundreds of humanitarians have been killed over the past few years while doing courageous work to save the lives of children & families. UNICEF pays tribute to these heroes & those who carry on this critical work. Humanitarians must never be a target. #WorldHumanitarianDay
