Our thoughts are with the people of Jamaica as they face Hurricane Melissa. PM @AndrewHolnessJM, Barbados stands ready to assist. We are 1 Caribbean and we will get through this together. We also keep in our prayers all other Caribbean countries that are likely to be affected.

As Hurricane Melissa continues its path, we hold our Caribbean brothers and sisters in Cuba and The Bahamas in our prayers, and extend our support to the people of Haiti and the Dominican Republic who have already felt its impact. Barbados stands with you all. #OneCaribbean

You’re an amazing woman. Thanks
We’re strong if we all stand as well
It seems the winds in Jamaica may be as high as 50 mph. We had that in UK last week - and it was not called a hurricane But it seems the developing system in the Caribbean is headed to Cuba - are our thoughts with them?
The Hurricane Melissa Relief website is now operational. Rebuilding Lives. Restoring Hope. Hurricane Melissa is a powerful Category 5 storm posing a serious threat to the lives and livelihoods of Jamaicans. In its aftermath, recovery will take every helping hand. Together, let us stand ready to protect and help families recover, rebuild homes and restore livelihoods once the storm passes. supportjamaica.gov.jm/

Many powerful people in this country have treated me and my son — both Canadians — terribly here in Barbados. I’m documenting everything and I have the records. In due course, I will formally invite you to provide your statement. If no response is received, I will record that as well.@miaamormottley @StateDept
