My general truth limiter is often simplification.
Would the world be a better place with or without Elon? Or even more broadly simplifying it. Would the world be a better or worse place with or without billionaires?
People love to gripe about the wealth disparity gap, but in reality, this is not billionaires faults.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
Every person who has made wealth through the capitalist system had relatively the same opportunity as Elon, Jeff, Zuck to make MILLIONS. All you had to do was invest your entire net worth into one of these founders.. but you didn’t.
And now you’re crying?.. because they did?
The truth is if you think billionaires are the problem, then you don’t understand how money works and I would suggest you spend a little more time understanding the root of the capitalist system.
I’m not saying it’s fair, at all. But don’t hate the player, hate the game.
In my mind, without these founders, these products would not exist and I think in general people who want things not to change or to stop innovation are those who essentially want regression. And to keep life simple.
It doesn’t matter whether Elon, Jeff, or Zuck are billionaires, that’s doesn’t change the fact why you don’t have money. Because if they did not exist, then somebody else would. That’s the premise of capitalism, and I agree. It’s not fair. But it errs to reward those who are the most productive. So if you’re productive, you can be rewarded too.
But sorry, stop crying. America was built on capitalism and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I try to remind myself everyday how we have unlimited access to the cumulative knowledge of the human civilization in our pockets… sometimes even for free. It’s called the internet.
But even when I find myself struggling, I remind myself that this is the system. Either play the game or get left behind
