This concept is informed in Islam.
It’s ‘hasad’ vs ‘ghibtah’.
Hasad: malicious envy. You dont care if you get it. But you don’t want the other person to have it.
Ghibtah: positive feeling of wishing the same thing for yourself without wishing for them to lose theirs.
“Are you jealous that I have an Oscar and you don’t?”
“Oh, that’s quite difficult… I’m not jealous of you specifically. I’m glad you have one! I wouldn’t want to take it off you and have it for myself.”
