The whole movie is based on the fact that Dek is considered a “weakling” by his father/tribe and he went out to prove himself because his father wanted him dead instead and killed his brother because he protected him. Him being a “downgrade” is the whole point of the story

Dek kills more enemies, deadlier enemies, and has cooler more badass kills then any predator in any other movie. I’ll take a slightly different design take for all the crazy shit we saw in that movie.

this movie is about young predator, the weakest one from his clan so maybe they choose to keep the design as simple as possible this simpler design allow the filmmaker to expand more of the predator facial expression using vfx which so far were limited because of the prosthetics
