The European Commission could legally challenge the enforcement of U.S. sanctions against #FrancescaAlbanese Albanese or ICC officials on EU territory. There is even a specific legal basis for this: EU Blocking Statute (Regulation (EC) No 2271/96) a regulation explicitly designed to prevent the extraterritorial application of foreign sanctions inside the European Union.
