In a world where all our favourite franchises coming back usually invokes a sense of dread, Predator and Apes have somehow both bucked the trend and provided some of the best sci-fi movies of the past 20 years.
what dan trachtenberg has done for the predator franchise will forever go down as one of the best franchise revivals i’ve ever seen, i truly cannot thank him enough

I liked PREY and absolutely flipped my lid for KILLER OF KILLERS, so I'm looking forward to BADLANDS. I loved RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, but the rest of the franchise reboot just left me cold. The special effects by Weta are pretty astounding, though.

Can't agree with that at all. The only one of these I enjoyed a lot was Killer of Killers. Was underwhelmed by both Prey and Badlands. The writing just isn't there for me.

Not at all. Not sure why so many people are lying about Predator.

Predator can finally stand tall. Let’s be honest, it had a horrendous run in the 2000s. Between Prey, killer of killers, and this… WOW. Great time to be a fan

YUP! Couldn’t have said it better myself!

I have to say, it’s a really low bar. I’ve not seen the newest Predator but Prey was a below average movie, 4 out of 10 at best. Killer of Killers was fine, might stretch to a 6 out 10. The fact these are being held so highly shows how bad modern movies are.

Really looking forward to Badlands

Ironically, they did it under Disney, the studio that is very hit or miss when it comes to reviving something

I fully agree, Prey it's brilliant, Killer of Killers it's an animated and plot masterpiece and Bad Lands an instant cult movie

Couldn’t agree more! Dan Trachtenberg’s work on Prey, Killer of Killers and now Badlands has been fantastic and the recent Apes movies are amazing as well.

Fury Road and BR 2049 also fit this description.

Predator really hasn’t had a bad individual installment. I even appreciate the goofiness of The Predator.

love it when a big studio simply decides to make an awesome movie

Can you imagine a predator vs planet of the apes movie?

Critical Drinker and MauLer would probably disagree with you, but to each their own! I wasn't a fan of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, I significantly preferred the trilogy.

Don't tell me you rate Badlands? It works as a generic monster / sci-fi movie but it ain't no Predator movie. It's gonna bomb like Tron Ares did.

No its still dread. Badlands isnt good. Even if there are things in it I like its just not a good film.
Replying to @mrmarkmillar
Not really. None of the projects have been better than 1 2 or predators. I mean they are better than the predator but that's a low fucking bar.

Why must you turn my feed into a list of lies?

Man how do u have such low standards? The 3 newest predator films are really bad. Kingdom of the planet of the apes from last year was the first post-fox and Disney merger Apes movie and was also bad. The trilogy before it was good. Disney destroys everything it touches

Incorrect. He’s turned it into more woke Disney feminist garbage
