Dear @Jira, please: 1. Rename "All work" to "Issues", took me 3 minutes to figure out where it could be. 2. Either uncheck "hide done work items" by default, or unhide it, so that I don't spend 20 minutes why half my issues are not listed 3. Your export button icon means "upload"
A dev called me, annoyed by a colleague rushing him for a 1 hour work thing. He says "what annoys me that they want it this week, and they asked it at 2 pm". Didn't get him at first, and told him "yeah, you got like 3 days". So he thinks it's Friday afternoon, on a Tuesday. 😂

Did this ever work for anyone? I think the code behind in these "troubleshooting wizard" is like this: btnNext_click { Thread.Sleep(30_000); }
Weird thing: we have a "prostate server" at work! It's a beast server with some GPU and power, running models on it and returns if a patient has prostate cancer or not. Still awkward when you shout "can you restart the prostate server?"
The Peter Principle: Every employee end up at their "level of incompetence." Meaning: People performing well are promoted till they reach a job they're no longer skilled enough to do. Once they stop performing well, promoting stops. They remain stuck (incompetent) at that level.
My product owner used to write 1-2 sentence Jira tickets, and the team was always frustrated. So I told her about different AI tools, showed some sample prompts to curate tickets. Now the tickets are 12 pages long, and the team is more frustrated! 🥳
Microsoft Visual Studio 2026 (Insiders) is using ~43% more memory for the same solution (while doing nothing). I thought something was wrong. After restarting both, it was worse (2 times). 🤔

Restarting the whole release, because someone forgot a '#' at the end of a '#{Replicas}'. No big deal, just another hour lost 😐
In 2005, I just used to save all files on my project and refresh the browser to test the latest changes. Now it takes ~3 mins to start local test! Can't believe how they convinced us this is now normal in 2025, where my PC is ~1200 times more powerful than 20 years ago:
We lost mom on April 20th. Her number left the family WhatsApp group today. Not sure if it was my bro returning the number, or the phone company, or even WhatsApp pruning; I couldn't stop but weep.

Just going through the worst imposter's syndrome for a long while. Just watched 2 giant screens for a week, and couldn't write a single line of code.

I had a weird & long vacation (2w vac->1w work->2w vac). Now I can't get back to work for the last 3 days, just scratching the surface of useless things. Just looking at the people in the meetings, as if they are talking Chinese.
Magic of lines
Switching to iPhone again, because kid's iPad (forced by school) can't be managed by Android. Official migration tool fails moving WhatsApp data BIG time. Had to pay an app to do it. Layers of shit, even before a Monday.

Just got on a bus ride, where text seems to be generated by AI.

This hit harder than any parenting advice I've ever heard
Live from a backlog refinement meeting: PO: ... they want to keep the ownershit... Team: <awkward silence> PO: ownership, yes.
I gather my team around & tell them stories: + Used to carry servers between ISP's in cars + Friday evening bug: Open file on remote ftp, add "on error resume next" first line, save & go party + Someone recommended Google, nuget, stackoverflow, git + Hand tuned IIS, prod SQL db
Remember when we used to FTP files directly to production? And unencrypted telnet. Passwords in the clear. Good times.
