I think there is possibly an argument that the poppy has been overly politicised in recent years. This is unfair on those that choose to observe it. What happened to those objecting taking their seats after the silence? Surely that was a reasonable compromise?

We get told time n time again that politics has no place in football. Leave this stuff to the cenotaph or in private. When it was just ww1 and ww2 we respected them but not when u force illegal wars on us and also forget about the deaths in the war in Ireland by British forces

Different for a lot of us Murdo. Many of our loved ones died so their families could get the old handshake at the interview or what school did you go to. I respect all who died for a cause they believe in. Many were duped with a more equitable life that they did not get. Sad

There's war memorials in Catholic Churh grounds, there's plenty of war hero's with connections to the club (William Angus) and loads of serving and retired soldiers in the UK army. The small minority have been amplified in recent years, I don't know what they can do to stop them.
