I took a 5 year detour in my tech career to run People Ops at my last organization.
Why?
1. My mindset: I want to sit in the seat where I make the most impact. At that time, in that company, taking on that challenge was where I could add the most value
2. I learned a ton and I love learning
After those 5 years, I added all of the value that I could in that role and it was time to get back to my passion in tech.
Now I'm working on @base -- if I hit the lottery tomorrow and didn't need to work to survive, there is no question that I would still choose to be doing this. It's the most challenging and fun job I've ever had & I'm surrounded by people who are stuck on beast mode. It's almost 11pm and I just got some feedback on a PR and Im lowkey excited to see what it says, brb.
