Great thread, a lot of truth here. This is exactly why I’m building Three.js Blocks: Three.js is the GOAT at its core, and the new WebGPURenderer is pure art, it just needs more plug-and-play modules like the big game engines have. I’ll do everything I can to make that happen.
every time I talk about my engine with devs that used @unity their whole life I always get the same reaction: 1 - they don't believe one person can build an engine that surpasses it and 2 - even if they could, it must result in tech that is "too hard" to use this used to bother me a lot, but today I realized something 🧵

What makes be WebGPURenderer pure art compared to WebGL or earlier versions? Any hard learned lesson from the development front?

Because WebGPU, by its very nature, and with the legendary Sunag @sea3dformat teaming up with @mrdoob to show us all what truly elegant code looks like. Sunag writes code like poetry; every line is a lesson. It’s a masterclass I get to learn from every day.
