On October 8, President Volodymyr
#Zelenskyy met with journalists.
Key statements:
🔸
#US President Donald
#Trump did not reject Ukraine’s request for long-range
#Tomahawk missiles during his meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on August 18. He said that work would continue at the technical level and that the possibility would be considered.
🔸
#Russia’s shadow fleet includes over 500 tankers used to export
#Russian oil in circumvention of international sanctions. Russia also uses such vessels as platforms for launching drones.
🔸 The counteroffensive operation conducted by
#Ukraine’s Defence Forces in the
#Dobropillia direction since August 21 has disrupted the
#Russian army’s summer offensive campaign.
🔸 Over the past month, Russian forces have carried out 1,550 strikes on the
#Chernihiv,
#Sumy, and
#Poltava oblasts, but only 160 of them hit their targets.
🔸 Zelenskyy believes that if Russia launches another wave of mobilization, Vladimir
#Putin could start a “major war” against
#Europe. He once again emphasized that the Russian leader must be brought to the negotiating table.
🔸 Next week, a
#Ukrainian delegation will travel to the United States to discuss air defence, energy issues, sanctions, and the negotiation track.
🔸 Zelenskyy confirmed that
#Ukraine is already successfully using the
#Neptune and
#Flamingo missiles in tandem.
🔸 Ukraine will nominate Donald Trump for the
#NobelPeacePrize if he provides an opportunity to achieve a ceasefire.
