I wanna do an ā€œAdults Haunted Houseā€ next year and it’s just a speaker that says things like: ā€œYour boss sent an invite for an unscheduled all hands meeting on a Friday afternoon.ā€ ā€œYour car started making a weird noise this morning.ā€
It’s interesting reading most of the responses in this thread. They’re all the same old ā€œbecome a doctorā€ ā€œlearn to codeā€ answers. No one seems to see AI coming for those jobs.
If you were advising a widely-talented 17yo today who wanted the safest path to the upper middle class what college major would you recommend? I genuinely don't know. The world is changing a lot. It's probably not computer science. Maybe it's mechanical engineering or math?
Are we allowed to like GPT-5 on this site, or are we only allowed to complain about it?

Feed algorithms have become so annoying. I know I have some passing interest in viewing some topic, but I know if I do view it that thing will completely take over my feed for the foreseeable future.
It’s unfortunate that hindsight is 2020. I sure could have used that clear vision for my foresight.
