WONDERFUL TIME chatting with @BernardRix just now as we recorded three upcoming episodes for @policingtv about my career, soon to be released book and policing opportunities and challenges in Canada!
Bernard, who started @PolicingInsight years ago, started Policing TV a few years ago. I was honoured when our mutual friend Pierre Perron suggested we record an episode about my book "If They Only Knew: A Cop's Journey with Addiction and Mental Health" (details available at lancevalcour.com).
Bernard was kind enough to agree but wanted to expand the recording to the abovementioned topics.
It is no surprise that when talking about opportunities and challenges, I shared about Canada's need for a Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network (PSBN). I told him about the Public Safety Canada @Safety_Canada) Governance Framework report that was issued YESTERDAY (and sent him the link at publicsafety.gc.ca/cnt/rsrcs…).
I also discussed issues around hiring and retention, mental health and information sharing.
