🟡IDF representatives informed the families of Colonel Assaf Hamami, Captain Omer Maxim Neutra, and Staff Sergeant Oz Daniel that they have been returned for burial.
According to the information and intelligence available to the IDF:
• Col. Assaf Hamami, 40, served as the Commander of the Southern Brigade in the Gaza Division. He fell in battle while fighting in Kibbutz Nirim on the morning of Oct. 7th, 2023, and his body was abducted by Hamas. Assaf was among the first to reach the combat zones and was the first to declare war. He leaves behind parents, a brother, his wife, and three children.
• Cpt. Omer Maxim Neutra, 21, immigrated to Israel from the United States. He served as a platoon commander in the 77th Battalion, 7th Brigade. He fell during a defensive battle in the southern communities near the Gaza border on the morning of Oct. 7th, 2023, and his body was abducted by Hamas. His death was officially determined on December 1st, 2024. He leaves behind his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
• SSGT Oz Daniel, 19, served as a combat soldier in the 77th Battalion, 7th Brigade. He fell during a defensive battle in the southern communities near the Gaza border on the morning of Oct. 7th, 2023, and his body was abducted by Hamas. His death was officially determined on February 25th, 2024. He leaves behind his parents and twin sister.
The IDF expresses deep condolences to the families, continues to make every effort to return all the deceased hostages, and is prepared for the continued implementation of the agreement.
