.@ClareHymer and I have spent the past 5 months interviewing Britain's political prisoners about life inside – and thinking about the kind of people that give up their freedom for a cause. Ep 1 of Committed is out today, listen here or on the NM feed novaramedia.com/committed/
Mamdani didn't centre his campaign on his Muslim identity or pro-Palestine politics – he knew the press would do that for him. Instead, he built a campaign around the one thing every New Yorker agrees on: the city is way too expensive.
A 34-year-old Muslim socialist was just elected mayor of New York City. How? By rejecting identity politics and embracing class solidarity. Novara Media's @rivkahbrown explains.

Has @BenKentish apologized to his listeners yet? "Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters were banned from watching their game against Aston Villa after police intelligence concluded the biggest risk of violence came from extremist fans of the Israeli club." theguardian.com/uk-news/2025…
‘What a disgrace for our country.’ @BenKentish reacts to news that Maccabi Tel Aviv have decided to not sell tickets for the Aston Villa game to fans.
And there you have it, folks.
I imagine the Jewish community of the West Midlands must be pretty relieved that a bunch of racist hooligans claiming to represent them isn't going to be rampaging through Birmingham before scarpering back to Israel, leaving the local community to face the inevitable blowback.

@wesstreeting: were you concerned that the MPTS tribunal would clear Dr Aladwan of any wrongdoing, so preemptively had her arrested to try and prevent it from going ahead?
Something very fishy about this: - Dr Aladwan's tribunal was due in 2 days. - Wes Streeting has been trying to get anti-Zionist doctors banned before tribunals. - The arresting officer quotes Streeting's criticisms of Dr Aladwan. Did you set the police on her, @wesstreeting?
BREAKING: British Palestinian doctor Dr. Rahmeh Aladwan arrested for posting against genocide, days before her tribunal Our words are being policed to serve a foreign genocidal entity. The persecution against our movement must end.

Noticing with the Maccabi Tel Aviv furore that the familiar antisemitism smearers are increasingly retreating from the A-word to "sectarian"
Solidarity with Lisa Nandy here ... the sectarian MPs are showing their true colours and Labour is facing them down - as we will in the next election ✊🚩
"The riots in Derby, Tel Aviv" has killed me
Kier Starmer you owe an apology! And to all those that have been libellous wait for my letter before action!

.@JakeWSimons, who left the Jewish Chronicle under a cloud after being found to have printed *nine* fake articles by the same fake journalist, appears not to have learned his lesson. That book is going to be Naomi Woolfed sooner than you can say "fact-checker".
What a disgrace. Printing utter fantasy now. The Telegraph ceased being a proper newspaper a long time ago.

Events in Israel today suggest that perhaps the West Mids police made the correct decision in banning Maccabi Tel Aviv fans after all. I had really hoped that a compromise could have been found and away fans allowed in whilst the local community could also feel protected, but when Israeli police cancel a game involving Maccabi Tel Aviv for fear of “risk of life” then we have to take the threat seriously. news.sky.com/story/tel-aviv-…

Britons tend to think it was the right decision to ban fans of Israeli football club Maccabi Tel Aviv from attending a match against Aston Villa next month, a fixture classified by West Midlands Police of being 'high risk' Right decision: 42% Wrong decision: 28%
Vastly more of the general public supports the Maccabi Tel Aviv ban than opposes it. Yet reading the country's leading progressive newspaper, you would think the opposite were true. This is why nobody trusts our media.
