If a compiler job requires grinding these days I probably wouldn’t get one. All that was necessary 5-10 years ago seemed straightforward: take compilers and/or computer architecture class, tinker with LLVM, pass coding/compilers interview. Perhaps because it wasn’t as popular?
i finally got a job as a compiler engineer!! it took months of grinding, so i wrote a biiig post about how i recruited, what the interviews are like, etc. link in bio 🥰

We've raised $100M from Kleiner Perkins, Index Ventures, Lightspeed, and NVIDIA. Today we're introducing Sonic-3 - the state-of-the-art model for realtime conversation. What makes Sonic-3 great: - Breakthrough naturalness - laughter and full emotional range - Lightning fast - 90ms model latency, 190ms end-to-end (fastest on market) - Supports 42 languages The difference: We build on State Space Models (SSMs) instead of Transformers. Transformers (what everyone else uses) are like rewatching the entire conversation from the start before saying each new word. Every word requires reviewing everything. SSMs (what Sonic-3 uses) are like humans, remembering the topic and vibe of the conversation. Enough context to speak naturally without replaying everything. My co-founder, Albert, and I pioneered the SSM paradigm at Stanford AI Lab (S4, Mamba), and it is now being adopted industry-wide. Thousands of businesses like ServiceNow, Cresta, and Decagon power millions of conversations monthly with Sonic. Try for free or book a demo here: cartesia.ai/sonic. If you're qualified and we can't make your voice AI better than what you're using now, I'll donate $5K to your chosen charity. As part of this launch, we cooked something super cool for you 👇🏻

We've raised $7M to help companies build AI agents that actually learn and work. @Osmosis_AI is a platform for companies to fine-tune models that outperform foundation models with reinforcement learning. Better, faster, and cheaper.

Cardinal is a document intelligence platform that turns the trickiest PDFs and scans into structured, LLM-ready data. Most of the world’s data is still locked in PDFs, and after trying every solution and finding none that worked, Harvard + MIT alums @devishijha and @jianna_liu set out to deliver the high-accuracy outputs LLMs need. ycombinator.com/launches/OCC…

The way agents use the internet is broken. They don't have access to your accounts, they're blocked on half of all websites, & they take hours to set up. Today, we're introducing @CompositeAI - the agent that connects to your browser to automate your mundane tasks.

For too long, data center management and operations tooling have overpromised and undelivered. As data centers have evolved to become AI factories, legacy tooling and limited innovation has meant downtime, hotspots, lack of asset visibility, and more. That ends now for teams that use @Aravolta_X25. We’ve been quietly working with data center operators to build tools, powered by AI, to change the game for data centers.
