Some of us are losing to memories we have of the past that never even happened. Some of us are losing to fears about the future that are never going to happen. If you’re going to lose to something, lose to what actually happens; not to your creativity working in the wrong direction.

The saying goes that you should never meet your heroes because you’ll be disappointed. Nothing could have been further from the truth for me over the last few days… I was fortunate enough to spend two full days with authors who have been heroes to me for years, sometimes even decades. These are some of the smartest and most impactful thought leaders on the planet. Yet there was no ego, no comparing, and no gatekeeping. Everyone freely exchanged ideas, strategies, and good vibes. Even though it was the first time I’d met many of these people in person, it felt like old friends reuniting. I’m fired up… JLL has apparently fired legendary CRE broker @BobKnakal for allowing his personal brand to outshine the firm brand. They all but admit it in this statement from their President: “At JLL the client comes first, JLL comes second and the individuals come third. That’s the true recipe for success.” This is a HUGE mistake on JLL’s part and shows that they do not understand business in 2024. The consumer wants to see the individual. High trust professions (doctors, lawyers, accountants) are the ones where consumers want the individual brand the most. The consumer wants to know you, the way you think, your lifestyle, your skill set. It builds trust. Listen to this podcast with @EdMylett and @roryvaden. It will be the best thing you do this week.
